My family and I had a lovely stay in Mercury house, there were a few shortcomings but they certainly did not outweigh all the positives this place and its neighborhood has to offer.
The apartment is very clean and new. It has a nice balcony to enjoy an afternoon tea and an equipped kitchen to cook a meal.
It is located in a very local, charming neighbourhood with grocery stores to buy your fresh produce and a big Carrefour supermarket, if you, like us, would like to have a home-cooked meal when you travel.
The apartment we stayed at was located on the second floor and there is no elevator, therefore it’s challenging to carry your luggage upstairs. I managed with the help of a lovely neighbour’s son :)
Some of the streets are very hilly but if you want to get a taxi everywhere, it wouldn’t be an issue. Although there is a 15-min walk to the Şişli-Mecidiyeköy metro station which in 10 minutes takes you to all the attractions in the other European side.
Last but not the least, the host Emre was very communicative and ready to help us with any questions when we needed.
