This hotel is a family-run establishment and is all about the attention to small details and customer service.
We arrived within the hotel’s posted hours, however their reception had closed for the day. The hotel had an easy system for “out of hours” check ins and communication was clear and timely, so there were no concerns. The staff was very friendly and genuine, which we valued.
The room was clean and comfortable with nice views. Parking is limited and the hotel is a bit of a hike from central Innsbruck (about 20-30 minutes), which may be important to take into consideration for arrival logistics. We traveled during a shoulder season and had no issues with parking.
Breakfast was good and had several delicious homemade jams - the toughest part was deciding which to try! Eggs were made to order and meats, cheeses, bread, and granola/yogurt were available.
As mentioned, the location is about a 20-30 minute walk from Aldstadt. At night, the walk was pretty dark and along the river. The location is great to access to zoo and is quiet. There was a hardbound book in the room about the hotel and the area - just another example of the fine details that make Hotel Heimgartl a nice place to stay. My only regret is that we did not stay longer!
