Not Mellow , Not Impressed
We had booked this property back in Oct 2023 for our March 2024 holiday in Florida , paying all the money up front in October 2023 through Hotels.com .We received a confirmation number from Hotels.com and no further correspondence . We expected something further even up to the day we left , flying from Canada but assumed(Incorrectly) that the owner would meet us at the property or would send us something. Upon arrival in Orlando and the drive to Sanford we found out that the unit had been rented to others. Those staying there helped us contact the owner Eliana and she stated she had no knowledge of the booking and had no options for us. So unable to find anything in Sanford and with the prospect of sleeping in a rented Chevy Malibu we headed to Apopka and finally found a place for the night at 11:00 PM . We ended up staying in Apopka for the duration of our stay in Florida at additional cost to what we had prepaid Mellow Yellow. We contacted Hotels.com and received a refund of our paid amount from last October but we are out the increase in cost that we had to absorb based on the "NOW" booking in Apopka and received no booking credits towards our account. There was never an explanation given to who dropped the ball from either Mellow Yellow Or Hotels.Com. At this point disappointed with both parties, no accountability from Hotels.com and no apology or offer of any kind in compensation .
