2/10 Mediocre

We would not recommend this resort.
We expected it to be the highlight of our trip, but it turned out to be a big disappointment. The resort is much smaller than what the photos suggest and located literally in the middle of nowhere. There are no restaurants or markets nearby, and if you want to eat anywhere else than the resort’s own (which is just okay and quite expensive for Vietnam), you’ll need to take a 30-minute taxi to the city. Even getting a taxi can be difficult due to the remote location.
The beach water is muddy, so this is definitely not the Maldives-style experience you might expect. Breakfast was also very poor. Although it’s advertised from 7–10 AM, you need to be there by 8 AM to get anything. Food isn’t restocked, the fruit was mushy and warm, and I even got food poisoning from the omelette. On our first morning after 9 AM there was barely anything left.
Staff is friendly, but communication is difficult since very few understand English. Our room was clean, but the bathroom window couldn’t be closed, so we heard every sound from the storm and trees outside.
You’re also basically forced to eat at the resort unless you want to take a taxi every time. They “provide” two small water bottles daily, but the even smaller bottles inside the minibar weren’t free, which felt unreasonable.
Overall, we suggest choosing accommodation on the other side of Phu Quoc.
