First time last minute booking at this hotel chain. I sent a note to the hotel that I would be arriving after 6pm, and was told there will be no staff to give me a card key, and that I had to download an app instead, and key in my confirmation number each time to electronically open the external and room doors. Especially inconvenient while transporting luggage during check-in and checkout as it takes between 5 to 20 seconds to wave my phone around/tap the sensors before it displayed a green light and unlock. At first glance, the room seemed very clean, but my feet were black from walking around barefoot. I had to mop the floors with fast food paper napkins first. There was detergent, but no paper towels or sponges supplied in the kitchen, no cups in the bathroom for toothbrushing, an assumed clean but black crusted folded towel and the single towel hook was hanging off the wall (broken by previous occupant). The grassy areas smelled of animal waste not picked up. The filtered water from the gym smelled awful.
I understand this is a new chain hotel with longer staying occupants, but I’m not sure I’d feel very safe traveling with my dogs in case they picked up something from the grounds, or staying here alone with no card key, and with different groups smoking pot nearby entrances.
I still rated this pretty high because of the price, well lit outside, clean except for the floors, very spacious, and if maintained, would be a good place to stay.
