Avoid this "cozy homestay." It is an illegal, unregistered operation in a single-family home (Zoned RS-50) violating Florida DBPR standards.
BAIT-AND-SWITCH: The listing says "No Pets." The owner intentionally waits until the cancellation window expires to send a "rental agreement" disclosing her dog and cat. When confronted, she lied about "platform format limits." My husband’s fear of dogs was ignored; we were trapped with an animal never disclosed during booking.
SUBSTANDARD FACILITIES:
-Hygiene: Bathrobes had nasty orange stains. Owner dismissed this as "minor cosmetic wear"—unacceptable for paid lodging.
-Shower: No hot water the first night. When it worked, it was scalding with no way to regulate it without losing all pressure. The head is too low for anyone over 5'8".
-Hazards: Owner’s cooking filled the house and our bedroom with thick smoke and grease smells, making the air unbreathable.
HOTELS.COM NEGLIGENCE:
-Security Breach: Rep "Ng" contacted the host while our belongings were on-site, despite our explicit warnings of discomfort.
-Ghosting: A supervisor called at 2:30 AM, then routed us to an 800#. On 2/10, a "30-minute callback" was promised; I’m still waiting.
-Zero Accountability: Rep Loremon Valenzuela refused a refund without the "hotel's" approval.
VERDICT: An illegally zoned residence run by a host using "standard processes" to scam guests. Hotels.com is complicit by refusing to override a fraudulent host.
