Very little parking, was assigned an occupied room
Checked in just before 11pm on a Wednesday night. We were assigned a room on the 5th floor. Upon arriving at the room and opening the door, we were shocked to find bags and suitcases on the bed, indicating the room already belonged to someone else. Thankfully, they were not in the room. When we went back down to the lobby, the lady working the front desk seemed confused and said the room wasn't assigned. She gave a different room and that room was fine. Upon speaking with the manager in the morning, he told me that the room did indeed show occupied, and he wasn't sure why she gave us that room. He was sympathetic and did a good job of rectifying the situation, but if someone was in the room it could have been a very dangerous situation.
My second gripe with this hotel is the extreme lack of parking. They have two very small garages, that are not gated or patrolled, so anyone can come and park there. Even if it was gated, I doubt there's enough parking to cover the 8 floors of rooms that they have. And if you have a large SUV or pickup truck, good luck navigating the garages, they are extremely tight. Our last night there, I had to park at the hospital garage a half mile down the street and walk back. I didn't see any signs saying I couldn't park there, but I didn't feel comfortable leaving my truck there. Not an ideal situation when you're spending a lot of money on a hotel.
The hotel is brand new, so the rooms are fine and its clean.
