This was an ideal place to stay! Close to every conveniences, and the pool was super chill, perfect for photo opps. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and assisted with a minor travel hiccup I encountered. I would definitely stay again at Casa Emma Hotel, especially while in Cartagena!!

The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. There's a trick to the hot water in the shower so just ask when checking in. Staff are great and try their best to communicate in english if your spanish is poor. Air conditioning works great. There is no elevator here so if you need assistance I would suggest a main floor request. This property is not wheelchair accessible. The walkability rating is an 8, you can get just about anywhere within 10 mins. I enjoyed my stay and would repeat.

The room is extremely small. The king bed takes up almost all the space, leaving very little room between the bed and the walls for luggage. There is no closet, no chair, and no drawers. The only storage is shelving above the bed, which is not very practical. The towels were old and stained. They looked washed, but the stains made them feel unclean and uninviting. The staff was friendly and helpful, which was the best part of the stay. This hotel works for a short stay on a tight budget. It is manageable for one person traveling light. For a couple, especially with more than one bag, the space feels cramped and uncomfortable.

I recently stayed at Casa Emma, and unfortunately, it did not live up to the photos online. The hotel clearly uses professional pictures that aren’t very realistic—in person, it feels much more basic. To start with the positives, the breakfast was excellent. Every morning there was a fresh spread with fruit, eggs, and arepas, and everything was well-prepared and presented. The room itself was clean, but very minimal. There was no table or nightstand, and the dresser was placed dangerously close to the bed—I almost hit my head a few times getting up, especially at night. The biggest issues were with the utilities. The water never got hot, only lukewarm, and would frequently shut off completely. I had to go to the lobby multiple times to report no water. On our last day, there was no electricity. Without power, there was no AC or running water since it relies on a pump. While they offered another room to brush teeth, it’s not the same as having full access to your own space. For the price I paid, I expected much more. Overall, while it was clean and breakfast was great, the lack of reliable water and electricity made the stay disappointing. I would rate it 2/5 stars.

Flew in from Las Vegas and stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights. The room had everything I needed—comfortable big bed, air conditioning, a bathroom, and a TV. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it was clean and practical, which was perfect for my trip. The biggest highlight is the location. You’re literally within walking distance of just about everything, and there’s so much to see and do in the surrounding area that I was out most of the day. Because of that, I really only used the hotel to shower and sleep, and it fit that purpose perfectly. The only downside is that you can hear street noise, including honking and police sirens, especially at night. That said, it didn’t bother me too much—throw in some AirPods or earplugs and you’re good to go. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. One helpful tip: if you need a blow dryer or an iron, they aren’t automatically in the room, but you can request them from the front desk. Overall, I felt safe staying here and had a positive experience. If you’re looking for a conveniently located place and plan to be out exploring most of the day, I’d definitely stay here again.

This is an incredible hotel - the staff is beyond helpful, and the location is in the middle of so many historic and cultural attractions. The hotel is very clean, the breakfasts were great, and both Kevin and Sandra went out of their way to answer questions, provide information and make recommendations. Our room was not huge, but it definitely was comfortable and provided us with AC, wifi, comfortable bathroom. We would definitely stay there again!

This hotel has a great location and wonderful staff. It is very hot in Cartagena and luckily the air conditioning at the hotel was ice cold if you wanted it. The rooms are perfect and beds very comfortable. Staff helped me plan a few excursions and recommended a great steak house for dinner. Would definitely recommend and return.
