Habitaciones en pésimo estado y limpieza deplorable . Camas muy blandas y remodelación de baño a medias … arañas salían todos los días ; mal olor en habitaciones; mala ventilación; calefacción encendida en verano y radiadores sin poder apagarse ; ropa de cama muy deficiente ; artículos de aseo pésima calidad ; piscina nada que ver con la foto que exponen ; fachada desintegrándose por fuera ; falta de aseo en el recinto en general ; clavos por doquier dentro de la propiedad y estacionamiento; destornilladores tirados en el suelo donde pasan personas y automóviles ; jardines sin Mantencion ; ventanas renovadas pero limpieza de los restos quedaron ahí mismo … baños con pestillos faltantes de clavos para asegurar puertas … todo a medias … terrible experiencia. Un hotel que solía ser el mejor en Serena se convirtió en un dos estrellas con mucho esfuerzo y siendo benevolente gracias a la simpatía de dos recepcionistas que intentaron hacer de mi estadía un poco más grata .

Better than expected

The hotel is on the edge of the old city of La Serena but was generally quiet (except for the Saturday night when a function downstairs went on until at least 4AM). The hotel is under major renovation and work seemed to be going on everywhere. My room was newly renovated and quite nice. Parking was secure. The restuarant was adequate but not inspiring. There are few restaurants in the old city open in the evening; everything is at the beach a couple of kilometres away.
