The family room is spacious and comfortable and pleasantl. The staff are friendly, kind and welcoming.. The breakfast was great. We well definitely stay again.

Was in room 1, very dated, towel rail broken. Curtains creased and tatty. Damage to wall. Quite noisy by road and people going up & down stairs. Very noisy extractor fan. Bed was comfy though and big bathroom with good shower. Breakfast was excellent.

We had a nice overnight stay. it was a halfway house between Cornwall and east Sussex. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was really good and well organised. The only issue we had was the curtains in our room (no.2) . They don't stretch all the way across, several hooks were missing and the middle bracket looked as if it was about to fall out the wall! We ended up holding it all together with pegs we'd travelled with Other than that all was good - a lovely old pub in a lovely part of England.

The room was clean and ready for us on arrival. Could do with some modernisation but everything was in good working order and plenty of amenities for drink making and biscuits provided in room. The pub itself was very cozy and did excellent food. The staff were really attentive and friendly too. Orders for breakfast were taken in the evening and everything was prepared fresh in the morning with hardly any waiting. Great service and would definitely recommend.

Check in was great, we got there earlier than expected. As we had to be off early in the morning, we couldn't stay for breakfast, so the manager provided us with a hearty take away lunch, lovely thick ham butties. Kept me going all day. Nice pub, a couple of decent real ales on, we didn't eat there but the food looked, and smelled nice, and we heard a couple of the customers commenting nicely about it.

Fantastic stop over. Very interesting 18th century old coaching inn converted to Pub/Hotel. Nice outside area to have a few beers and bite to eat. Kitchen was closed when we arrived but our excellent host asked the chef to made us some toasted cheese sandwiches and fries, which we ate listening to some great nostalgic music blasting away from the outside speakers. Definitely have the the pork sausages in the morning. Locally made. Best I've every had!

I would call the room we stayed in cheap and cheerful. Room was pretty clean, the only issue we found was quite a bit of black mould in the shower cubicle. The staff were very friendly and remembered my wife’s intolerances for breakfast. The breakfast was very good, well cooked and nice ingredients used. We decided not to have any evening meals after reading about the service charge they automatically add to bills. We don’t agree with this and never understand why places do this as it only upsets customers and puts them off returning. If you are looking for a cheap room and a good base to explore the area then this place is a good option.
