Overnight stay from seeing family in Stafford to seeing more family in Hampshire. As it was a Saturday night we had pre booked a table for dinner and I have to say the food is 10 out of 10. Very good quality and served hot and the same for breakfast, really enjoyed the full English. Will definitely stay here again the staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Great customer service.

A building full of character, good food, great staff and one of the best pints of Guinness I've ever had, and I've drank a few from all over the world. A very well sized full English breakfast sets you up for your day. This will be on my list of 'will go again' places to stay.

My hubby and I enjoyed an overnight stay at The George, on a Saturday night in late September. It's a very picturesque pub in a lovely area. No issue with parking as there is a large carpark and there's a fab beer garden too. On arrival, we were given a very warm welcome and shown to our bedroom. The bedroom was very quaint, spotlessly clean and had all the lovely touches (toiletries, great quality tea/coffee and a complimentary local ale) that you hope will be provided in premium accommodation. We had booked a table in the restaurant for an evening meal. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and it felt like nothing was too much trouble for them. The meal was delicious. Our compliments to the chef! In the morning, we had a full English breakfast which was also 10/10. There were cereals, Danish pastries and yogurts etc. Again, all the staff were very pleasant and engaging. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and have no hesitation in recommending - the whole experience was a delight!

Lots of character, authentic, old inn. Good parking on site at rear with nice garden to sit in. Nice ambiance overall. Staff competent. Evening meal - we had the hake - was excellent. Good breakfast. The double room we stayed in overlooked the main street. It was sufficiently quiet although it was smaller than we would have liked. Satisfactory for one or two nights stay, and at the price point very acceptable. Would not rule out staying again if in the area.

The George was so quaint, the fireplace was so warm and welcoming. The staff were so friendly and the food was absolutely amazing. A good selection of drinks in the bar. A great base to see more of the Cotswolds

Quiet location in a pretty village near the church. The room was lovely with a comfortable bed, and the bar and restaurant were very welcoming.Excellent dinner and breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was with the very poor wi-fi connection in the room.

Yes, lovely locally sourced produce, we chose the venison pie for lunch, delicious, would recommend, meat platter later in the day, tasty too, “ off the hook ale “ a great ale and others to choose from. Breakfast hot, good choice, local produce and perfectly cooked, the comfort room was comfortable for our one night stay, no issues, lastly the staff were so welcoming and could not do enough for you, nothing too much trouble, a special mention to Jess also and the rest of the team such a relaxing beautiful place to stay, we will definitely visit again, also this is a perfect location if you are visiting the Cotswold Distillery as only a few miles away, Well Done to you all…Andrea & Carl

We enjoyed our stay here but the day before we left my partner had his wallet taken from our room by (we think) the cleaner unless anyone else entered our room while we were out! We reported it in the morning when we realised it had gone to the girl on reception to be told the manager was not there but she would contact her. Then after speaking to her we were told they were very sorry and all they could do was offer a free night stay or a bottle of gin. She said they had called in the agency who supplied the cleaners and would update us later as they didnt know who the cleaner was. We accepted the bottle of gin and expected to be updated on it but so far have heard nothing! I have e-mailled them twice and no answer! Very disappoint!! Just make sure you dont leave valuables about in your room!

The staff was so lovely there, making sure everything was ok. The only reason i didnt give 5 stars, the room we stayed in was drafty and you needed to wrap yourself up a bit in bed. Could with double glazed windows. The food was lovely though, breakfast was lovely to.
