2nd visit this year and as the last visit we had a clean room, both days, welcoming and helpful staff, a lovely breakfast and very tasty evening meals. Beautiful building with historic architecture that has been maintained to a high standard. Highly recommended and will definitely be back.

Very good value for money, especially the fact that an English breakfast was included. This is a 500+ year old property, so floor is a bit uneven (though covered with a nice fitted carpet), and doorways and roofs are a bit low (you have to lower your head through doorways and in the bathroom). However the room is well served with comfortable bed, tea and coffee, good water pressure and instant hot water in the bathroom. Nice TV and WiFi. Although located just next to train station, I did not hear any train noise inside the property at any time. definitely recommend.

12 months on from our last stay the hotel has new owners. The room was quite a bit cleaner, the staff were excellent hosts, the food was much better and the whole stay was very pleasant. Definitely be back.

Full cooked breakfast was available, parking was available with plenty of space. The room could have been cleaned better, especially around the window but the rest of the room and the bathroom were fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. I understand the property had new owners so they were probably still getting to know the property.

Room 23 was tiny and getting into the bathroom was awkward though a very low door. No shower only a bath with a hand held shower head. Single bed fine and just about ok for those if us who are 6’2 (a wall is a definite footboard). Bar shuts very early (before 10pm so no late night drink), friendly staff. Food can’t complain but not to rave over.

Couple of night stay away with work, always my go to place to stay in cambridge, food and drink is always great, staff are amazing and I'd had an issue with the kettle not working this time, so as I left for my work day I'd left a note by the kettle saying it didnt work, when I returned there was a working kettle. Lovely snd quiet place to stay, very convenient for train station, literally across the road, but i drive and park in the car park around the back.

A lovely, oldy-worldy hotel/pub. We loved all the old features like the wooden doors and beams. The room was spacious and the bed was comfy, but the pillows were quite hard and lumpy. Again, the bathroom was spacious, but with only a bath and handheld shower it was a bit awkward. The shower could do with nailing up on the wall and a shower curtain adding. This didn’t detract from our stay, but it would make it a lot more functional. Breakfast in the morning was nice. The poached eggs were delicious! But it’s a bit odd that the chef shuts the kitchen 15 minutes before breakfast technically ends.

The room was alright no head room in bathroom and shower head very low so only available to use if sat in bath. No reception for arrival and no management seen at all. Bar closed at 6pm on Sunday even though sheet in room said open till 7. Menu was very poor with very little choice. Breakfast was average.

Lovely place in really useful location near motorway and right next to a station on London-Cambridge line. Staff are great and breakfast was delicious
