I’ve stayed at this hotel 5+ times over the past decade, and sad to say, this hotel has really gone downhill. From the stained in-room furniture, to the dingy, worn (and stained) carpets, to the indeterminate smell in our room that they were trying to mask with some sort of very heavy air freshener - the signs of the lack of care are everywhere. To add insult to injury, we went downstairs on our first morning to get a bagel and some fruit from the previously free breakfast “buffet”, only to discover that they started charging $11 per person! $11 for the usual cheap breakfast buffet staples of yoghurt, unripe fruit, processed bread-like products, and sad hot items (scrambled “eggs”, paper thin bacon, etc.). You could tell that the staff at least had the good grace to be embarrassed about this recent development. Not beyond saving, as the location is great and the building itself in good condition, but they need to take steps ASAP to mitigate.
