Owner run and operated B&B, meaning very high standards and all access requests to anything during accommodation. If you are able to meet the required conditions for staying at this guest house, then you’ll probably have the best stay of your lifetime, like I did. Free, on-site parking is very limited; available if you book early. On street parking is also tight. However, there are paid car parks within 1 to 10 minutes walking distance, dotted around the area near the hotel. Another thing to be aware of is the check-in time. It’s a very short 3 hour window, however, advanced, alternative arrangements can be made, and the owner/management is very accommodating. Building is converted from the 1800’s to modern standards, which means it’s very charming, and quirky; my bathroom sink was next to my bed, and was surprisingly functional. A lot of attention to details in the room decor and everything flowed. I loved the wicker basket with towels. The wallpaper matched the wall painting and even the drink mat. The tea station was well laid out with extra touches. Communal items too. The rooms themselves are cosy with a lot of character and looked after with utmost care. The overall feeling is as if you’re visiting relatives or an elder brother who will go all out to look after you, and nothing is ever too much; all you need do is ask. Very central location. Visited for leisure with my husband. No regrets. Will recommend and definitely stay here again, if ever I return to Babbacombe.
