We enjoyed our stay at Edgecliff Motel. The room was big, the beds were comfortable and they gave us a continental breakfast every morning (a boxed breakfast of cereal, fruit, milk and a granola bar). It is close to buses and the train station - so its very convenient to get into Sydney CBD, but at a reasonable price. We would definitely stay here again. Also, there is an AMAZING fish takeaway (Eastpoint Seafood) on the left side of the train station, best we had in Australia and a super nice family run it.

This is probably best value in Sydney (considering the market) with what you get: location/transportation, you're minutes away from either Center or Bondi, there are Coles and Aldi nearby.
