The staff was so friendly and thoughtful. They went out of their way to make sure our anniversary was incredible. The owners even can and had dinner with us the night we arrived. Ngasha was an incredible hostess/bartender, chef Kevin was amazing in the presentation and quality and taste of food, Fortune our guide was incredible and very intelligent and resourceful. Victor was excellent too.

Lovely stay at Gwango

We had a lovely time staying 2 nights at Gwango Elephant Lodge. The staff were all very helpful and the food was excellent. This was a very peaceful place and was amazing to have elephants just outside the dining area when eating dinner.

Left without checking in

This lodge came as a big disappointment after we had stayed in nine other lodges on our road trip from South Africa and around Zimbabwe. All were excellent. While the owner, Elizabeth, was very pleasant on arrival, Gwango does not match its description and ironically was the most expensive rate paid for any of our other accommodation. There were no other guests despite it being peak tourist season and the surrounding lodges having high occupancies. The chalets are modest at best without coffee or tea making facilities or bottled water. There was undue interference by visiting family members with the duties of the camp staff. Despite this being a bush camp there were constantly barking dogs from the owners nearby house.There is no basic wifi. We were lucky to secure the last chalet in a neighbouring lodge. Regrettably we have also had no response from Hotel.com to our written complaint.

truly fantastic African experience

Completely amazing. Real African with a view of the pan. Additionally, the staff & owners were indescribably attentive and lovely. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and they made it amazing. The best part was a birthday cake. Made of elephant dung! Fabulous!!! Will never forget it.

Wir waren als Motorradgruppe dort. Wurden von den Eigentümern sehr herzlich empfangen. Sie haben sich um alles hervorragend gekümmert und waren ständig parat. In der Nacht sind wir zu einer Elephantengruppe gefahren, die sich wohl stets in Lodgenähe aufhält..... Ein super Erlebnis....
