Well, I was lucky enough to stay at the Blue Mountain Homestay post covid in Sep 2022.
I had a great time and stay. Buddhi the owner makes you feel very welcome like part of his family. He is thoughtful, attentive and friendly. He is able to arrange most things and has the knowledge to do this.
I stayed in a very nice comfortable room which has been recently renovated as has the property. The room had a ceiling fan, plenty of lighting options, a big 2 way sliding window, a very comfortable double bed, a table and 2 chairs. There was an en-suite bathroom which had a shower, basin and toilet. There was plenty of hot water and towels.
The room and bathroom was clean and presentable.
Just to put things into perspective, In Nepal accommodation in general isn't quite up there compared to Western accommodation. So be prepared to manage your expectations. But saying that Blue Mountain Homestay for sure is one of the better places in the regard.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The stay includes breakfast which was very nice it includes 2 eggs any style, 2 toast, jam/butter, fruits and tea/coffee, you can also take cereal/porridge.
Blue Mountain Homestay is located about 5min walk from Thamel, which is where the tourist part of Kathmandu is which in turn is quite chaotic and busy, but the location of property is ideal as it's quieter and away from the mayhem but close enough.
There is plenty of space and seating areas to enjoy. It was a delight to eat outside in the w
