Room was decent, but there was a noticeable lack of attention to cleanliness/maintenance in the room and resort as a whole. I purchased an ocean front room for the week, yet was placed in a room with no view of the ocean…. like no view at all…
When I asked to move rooms due to the plethora of issues such as but not limited to: the view, pests in the room, defective shower faucet, defective room key, and dirty floors, the manager responded very defensively and promptly declined all requests I made to rectify my issues.
If I hadn’t been firm and demanded a refund for the remainder of my planned stay through Hotels.com, I would not have gotten any of my money back. I still had to take the loss of $319 from this hotel, when I arrived at 12:30 am and was leaving before the next morning at 10:00 am due to the filth and pests.
Thankful to have had support of Hotels.com in rectifying my issues, as Discovery Beach Resort management told me they had no intentions of doing so. The images provided are NOT what you get at this hotel. We would have stayed and made the best of the situation if we were met with even an ounce of kindness or care from management.
I am not hard to please by any means, but when advertising “ocean view”, there should be an ocean view. Otherwise, the view should be advertised as what it is: shrubs.
The gentleman that works security and checks guests in at night when booking is closed is the only good thing about this place!!!!
