My friend and I decided to take a last minute weekend trip to the coast and decided to stay overnight. We were looking for cheap with a good location, free parking and maybe a continental and we found all of that with the Atomic Motel. The dated look is part of its charm - despite looking a little worn down it's in great condition, everything is clean and the beds were comfortable. We stayed in a room that was a queen bed with a twin bed and it worked great for us. The TV in the room is tiny but honestly if you're in Astoria you're probably not there to watch TV. The bathroom is the only area I thought was truly lacking - if you have bad knees or ADA needs it might be a little difficult as the toilet sits about 1.5'. Otherwise the bathroom is spacious enough with a good sized bath/shower, they even supply an anti-slip mat which is always appreciated. The overall property is simple. Parking is right in the middle of the property with easy access to rooms. If you'd rather have a full breakfast over the continental, there's a Pig & Pancake right next door. If you're visiting the area for the first time, around the block behind the motel is the Astoria Visitor Center with information about local events and attractions as well as souvenirs and maps and a sweet old lady who'll tell you all about anything you want to know about the area.

We found the Atomic Motel to be a really cute budget-friendly stop for us along our roadtrip. I loved the decor and everything we needed was provided.
