If you are in the rooms upstairs everything is ok, but downstairs you hear everybody walking.

This is a very weird set-up as the individual rooms are in the basement of the home. We were in the Aurora room which is entered right off of the basement kitchen. You enter into the bathroom which is very strange. The plumbing is under platforms on which the shower/tub and toilet sit, so getting on and off the toilet is an adventure. The room feels like a dungeon with low ceilings that are stained. The window opens up to ground level with a view of an old RV. The beds were clean and pretty comfortable with the twin bed more of a cot/roll-away looking thing. This was a better option than the highly over-priced chain hotels in Anchorage, and we felt safer in this area than in the busy part of the city.
Very odd toilet configuration.

When is a suite not a suite? When it’s the Alaskan suite. It’s actually three separate rooms: one smallish bedroom with a double bed, another bedroom with twin beds and a bathroom at the end of a short corridor accessed through a pair of swing saloon doors - which any of the other guests could walk through if they chose to ignore the printed sign stating the bathroom was for use by Alaskan suite guests only. The bedroom doors had keypad entry, which, if you kept the doors closed you had to unlock each time. Plus you wouldn’t want to leave the doors open at night as anyone could walk in. Also if using the bathroom you could be seen entering it by anyone who happened to be in the breakfast room at the end of the short corridor - so no privacy (especially not if you’re in nightwear or less!) To call it a suite there should be a lockable door leading to the three rooms and not a pair of swing saloon doors. The so called ‘self serve’ breakfast was not buffet style to help yourself to (rather than table service) but help yourself to whatever you can find in the fridge and cook it yourself. All we could find was one hard boiled egg, some fresh eggs, two yoghurts, some milk, some small cartons and tins of juice and some bread and bagels. On the side there were some cereals and sachets and a little fruit. Not my idea of a breakfast at a B&B. The rooms were on the dingy side one had a tear in the carpet. We were booked in for 2 nights but left after one. Can not recommend

The first thing I noticed when I opened my room door was a raised toilet without any privacy. I saw black water coming out of the faucet when I turned on. There was no closet to hang clothes and no desk in the room.

Cute little BnB. Close to Airport. Shared spaces were nice. Rooms comfy and clean. We left before breakfast. Only thing to be aware of is the stairs going to downstairs rooms. I had a heavy bag and stairs were tricky. But it was a lovely stay. Will use again.

I had a wonderful stay. It was a little tricky to find the driveway and I had to turn around and try again. There was a fully stocked kitchen with breakfast foods in the refrigerator. There were water bottles. There were books and games. My daughter LOVED the room with the little bears and foxes on the walls. I will definitely stay again!

The staff came in to do laundry at 11:30pm and since the facilities are right beside our room we could not sleep. When they were upstairs the foot stomps were so loud that we ended up having a terrible night. Besides that it is an adorable place and well decorated but I could never stay there again with all that noise. It was a rough night.

Jewel Lake B&B is a wonderful welcoming venue. It is very clean, with an attention to detail that encourages enjoyment, relaxation, and a sense of being home. The kitchen(s!) and room were well stocked, clean and inviting. I absolutely hope to stay here again. Thank you for the A hospitality!

We had to stay in Anchorage overnight for dental appointments. Jewel Lake B&B is the perfect option for an inexpensive and convenient stay. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast options are ideal for families.

The Jewel Lake BnB is in a great location, easy to find, and in proximity to Ted Stevens Int’l airport. More so, the rooms as well as the overall condition of the property is excellent. Beds are comfy, and the kitchen is stocked with basic amenities when it comes to prepare breakfast. I love it!!!
