Wonderful staff and the guest house. It is a real pleasure to stay here as the place is clean, and every morning the staff cleans and sprays the place during the complimentary breakfast they offer. The ambience is also great as the bathroom has blue lighting in addition to regular lighting.

Starry Night at Ukulhas, You MUST Stay here!

My stay at the Starry Nights at Ukulhas was truly amazing. Anwar, the Manager, was a superb host and so were his colleagues Zidan and Soheb. They went “all out” to host us and made our stay a very memorable one. They looked after our activities, arranged for us Snacks, Juices, Fruits and not forgetting, to top it all, the soothing Coconut water after our activities. The Island is Local Island, small, but, the beaches were amazing and it is completely open to tourists. Sunbathing and swimming is permitted only on the beaches. Visibility in the waters while snorkeling and diving is unbelievably crystal clear and I’m sure you will love this place. The Diving school on the island also has an amazing team of divers to set you in the mood for the dive. Food of all kinds are available at the different restaurants, however, choices are limited only to the menu card. Sunset on this island is something you just cannot miss. Ukulhas Island was 90 mins speed boat ride, however, the time was worth the ride coming to this beautiful place. Anwar is opening a new Hotel just by the side of the old Starry Nights and I’m looking forward to returning there in the near future.

Be prepared for changes

When we arrived, we learned that the owner of the hotel owns three guesthouses in Ukulhas. We were brought to Vilu Veli Beach Inn instead of Starry Night where the owner informed us that he had changed our booking to this guesthouse. It seemed to be a common practice to adjust bookings between the three guesthouses. At first, I was not happy at all because I had specifically chosen Starry Night. However, Vilu Veli Beach Inn was brand new (opened Dec 2018) and our room was bigger and the beach closer so we agreed to stay there. However, the owner was accomodating and said that if we wanted to stay in Starty Night, we could. In short, if you book Starry Night and specifically want to stay there, maybe good to state it in the reservation!

Während unseres Fluges von München nach Dubai teilte man uns mit, das aus technischen Gründen kein Zimmer zur Verfügung steht und wir in ein anderes Hotel ohne direkten Zugang und Strandliegen einchecken müssen. Vor Ort stellte sich diese Aussage auch noch als Unwahrheit heraus. Das Hotel war einfach überbucht. Ob ich nochmal über Expedia buche weis ich nicht. Bei einer Buchung gleich zwei Hotels trotz Buchungsbestätigung nicht verfügbar ( Gaia Sunsrise und Starry Night ). Sehr ärgerlich.

Albergo a 2 passi dal mare ma in una settimana di soggiorno solo 1 giorno son passati a pulire la stanza... all’arrivo non sapevano che avessi pagato per la pensione completa e quindi non erano affatto felici guardando i prezzi dei loro menù, a loro sarebbe convenuto che mangiassimo li senza la formula pensione completa, infatti dopo auesto episodio, raramente ci salutavano ogni qualvolta che entrassimo e uscissimo dall’albergo. Wonderful guesthouse in Ukulhas

Everything was perfect. The staff is amazing, very welcoming and friendly. Great service. I got sick the day before my arrival and I was still in a bad shape when I arrived at the guesthouse. Matt made sure I was alright as I spent the rest of the day in my room, brought me tea and water and invited me to a group diner, which I really enjoyed and appreciated. The room is large, clean and comfortable. It is quiet and relax. Breakfast is really good (choice between 5, local and western style). The beach is 2 minute walk and it’s the best spot around. There are snorkels and find you can borrow. It is a small island, so stores and restaurants are close to the guesthouse. I really enjoyed my stay there and I highly recommend it.
