Horrible experience. I first booked the Telegraph Hotel in Bayamo because I heard so much about it and when trying to check in they informed me that they didn’t have hot water and they had to move me to another hotel of the same chain Isla Azul, hotel that I didn’t have any intention to stay at. I tried to cancel the reservation through Expedia which is the website I always use to book my trips. After explaining that I was not getting what I paid for, the Expedia agent on the phone wouldn’t help either saying that Expedia wasn’t responsible for whatever happened at the institution. Meaning: I paid for a service through a trusted website which I WAS loyal to and nobody would take ownership of trying to solve the situation. As a result:

2. Found out that Expedia charged me $111 and at the hotel front desk the most expensive room was $60. Once again, thanks Expedia for charging me double and not talking responsibility.
3. The Royalton Hotel which was the other hotel, after a big rain the room was flooded and I had to leave the room until they finished to mop the water and they wouldn’t change the room.
For all of you thinking to visit Cuba, never stay at a hotel. It’s better to use People’s rooms for rent and that way you actually help the real people. And second, don’t book through Expedia. They don’t guarantee anything and they charge way more for no reason. And I’m sure nobody from Expedia will contact m
