Very cute, clean, comfortable 3 star resort. If you're looking for 5 star amenities, don't stay here. But if you're ok with a nice room, clean pools, they have 2, small outdoor restaurant, well manicured tropical landscaping, Las Catalinas Coronado is for you!

Las Catalinas Coronado was a very pleasant. The staff were friendly and were more then accommodating when it came to putting up with our lack of speaking Spanish. With the help of Google translate we both made it work. The room was small but nice and clean. There was a patio area with a hammock out from that was private and peaceful. The entire grounds were somewhat of an oasis and the pool area was private and had a kitchen area that was open to all to use. It helped we were there during the off season as there were only a couple of other guest there beside ourselves. It turns out we are not big fans of the Coronado area, but I would stay at the Las Catalinas again.

Hidden Gem in Coronado

The trip was really fun. It was nice staying at the hostal because the area closer to the stores was not as ascetically pleasing. The hostal is lovely and spacious. There was a big living area indoors, and several outdoor areas plus a pool to choose from. Yuri was great, accommodating every request. However, the bus is several miles from the local bus stop and has no signs. Having a car is key, though that may be difficult too, because of the roads google chooses to send you down.

This is a Hostel not a Hotel

As long as you're aware of what you are booking, this is an acceptable accommodation. This is more of a Hostel than a Hotel. The "living room" is shared space as is the kitchen and seating areas. There is no one to check you in but a friend of the owner who was working in the garden gave us our key. There is no maid service, and the rooms are sparsely furnished. Our room had an uncomfortable queen bed pushed into one corner, and a dresser with squeaky drawers for clothes. The bath had one towel rod that kept falling down, no amenities such as soap or glasses, and no hot water. There were no electrical outlets except for one extension cord by the door to the unit with a plug in on top of the dresser. On the good side, the WIFI was good, and the AC worked. The pool is small but clean, and there are shared cooking facilities and tables outside.
