My husband and I checked in later than expected due to a flat tire on our friends rental car and the long drive. Finally arrived and was worried out room was already taken, but the hotel owner Wayne was there waiting on us. He was very nice and hospitable and also from Texas too. Room was nice and clean w/2 double beds and being so tired we slept great. But upon leaving our room for the day we read a sign on door to" turn A/C off if gone more than an hour!" Well I just went from a cold Texas to a Hot Belize and I needed that A/C when I got back to my room. I'm very used to having A/C and like my room at least 72! Yes it was only February but it gets hot & muggy even by the beach. So we dealt with it.There were windows that could be open but it would come rain showers during the day and had to close the East windows facing the beach so no air getting in. Beds kinda hard and we only had sheets changed once in 8 nights, not much maid service just clean towels. Walls very thin so you could hear your neighbors and one night we did have some late night loud ones! But then again there was Wayne, he was so nice you just couldn't leave the place to go stay elsewhere. So I highly recommend that for you ladies out there that want a bit more comfort on a long stay in Hopkins to look a but further up the road to the resorts, But it is a perfect place to stay for men that are there fishing, diving and drinking or for a real short stay if you're tired! there was Wi-Fi tho!
