This little hotel has so much potential, but we didn't feel it lived up to it. We stayed in one of the carriage house rooms. We arrived to a clean room, renovated and comfortable shower. Once we got settled, we realized that with a little attention to detail, this stay could have been so much better of an experience. Among other reasons, we picked this room for the small kitchen it offered. We weren't planning on heavy-duty cooking but even the minimal cooking we did was challenged. The one sharper knife in the room was full of rust and unusable. Most cooking utensils were in condition that you would never want to use with your food. There was a dish soap, but no scotch to clean dishes with (other than a dirty scotch for cleaning underneath the sink). The list goes on. We felt that with just a little attention and small investment, the room experience could have been so much better.
As for service, with only one service person who can't be available 24/7/365, it is hard to receive the service needed. On the one day we asked for room cleaning, the cleaning staff missed our room. We came back to the room after a really long day and wanted to shower but had no clean towels. We had to wait until 10:30pm to receive clean towels. This isn't a service rep or cleaning issue; these are all management issues, which is unfortunate.
