Room was spacious and clean Staff were good/friendly;bar was good! Brkft was good with lots of variety/buffet Location was amazing, fronting onto Lake Windermere!! Stayed here on our Honeymoon, 50 years ago as well!! Parking was good Bed was good ———- Manager was not warm and welcoming! Pub food was ok but it was not a high standard.

It’s a hotel over a pub/restaurant. Rooms are old fashioned but clean. Bed was comfortable and shower worked just fine. Staff were helpful and friendly. Parking was on site and there was always a space available despite it being open to visitors. Beautiful view from the garden over the lake. Didn’t sample the breakfast as there was a small area to pick your food after which you walked over to the separate main dining area. Dinner was average.

One of the best hotels in the area. Beautiful garden overlooking the lake. Good food and friendly staff. It gets understandably busy on sunny days. Easy walk to Ambleside.

Dirty bathroom, shower drain was blocked, no view, traffic noise, tired carpets and furniture, breakfast was poor quality. Definitely not a 4 star property. Avoid this place while in the Lake District.
