Our apartment was a traditional old Maltese building, reminded bit like Venice, in heart of Valletta.
Felt very safe and people friendly.
Yes it’s noisy, but building not double glazed as very old, and it is right in heart of city amongst other residents . We were fine with it, it’s what adds to life’s richness., go to other places to experience different lifestyles.
Loved the freedom to do as we pleased. The company who ran the apertment were very nice, n our towels were changed daily n bed made, which I didn’t expect. Thought they’d pop in only couple of times, so this was very nice.
Our apartment had a small roof terrace with little spa type pool, but didn’t use, as weather wasn’t good.
Buses are by far, best way around island, cheap. Went to medina, beautiful walled ‘silent’ city. Popeye’s village was lovely, had to go there for grandchildren sake, but great place, can spend whole day there, use beach too and splash play/Park area. Ferry used to pop over to sliema , cheap again, can get other boat trips from here.
