Not a 4-star stay.
The hotel did not live up to expectations based on its description. While some aspects, like the location, were good, several major issues justify this review.
The overall staff experience was poor—most seemed disengaged and uninterested in helping guests. Both the lobby and the room had a persistent unpleasant smell of mold and humidity. The bedroom had very small windows with blinds that couldn’t be opened, which made the space feel even more closed in. The elevator was extremely slow, often requiring a long wait. And perhaps most disappointing of all: the pool, which is prominently featured on their website, closes at 7 PM unless you pay an additional JPY 3,000 to use it at night. This was a major letdown and is not clearly communicated anywhere in advance.
