It's not a hotel. There are no staff or facilities. I was looking forward to a stay in a boutique hotel and Torrington Hall is a more like a HMO. Clean big room comfortable bed, nice bathroom but my room was reached through the communal Kitchenette used by the full time residents.

The property was easy to find and conveniently situated. However, there was a lot of traffic noise. It felt very "stuffy" when we arrived, would have liked to be able to open a window for ventilation.

The rooms were very large, the ensuite was clean and toiletries were provided. The only suggestion would be for the floorboards in the room above Sopwell (ground floor) to be screwed down as these were squeaky when the occupant in the room above was moving around which woke us up as the squeaks were quite loud. The free parking was great and the system was easy to use, the instructions sent prior to arrival were clear for the check-in and checkout process.

Last minute booking made at 8pm by 11.30pm was at the property and no lockbox enaul had been forwarded so could not get into the property. Had to find alternative accomodation as could not waitcany longer for the info as no indication my issue was being addressed. Finally received the lockbox email at 12 30am 4.5hrs after the booking. Would not advise last minute/evening bookings for this venue.

Quirky property with complete self check-in using codes and key boxes. Room (St Albans) roomy and bathroom well appointed. WiFi worked well. Bit of a lack of surfaces - desk would have been nice. Great location - but town is uphill!

I enjoyed my stay at Torrington Hall. I was in St Albans for work and needed a room at short notice. The self check-in instructions were sent to me in advance and were very clear. The room was lovely, with good wifi, a desk to work on, comfortable bed, and a smart TV so I could login to Netflix/Prime. The bathroom was large with a good size shower which was hot with good pressure. There was a fridge in the room and tea/coffee facilities which were very useful. Being able to use the kitchen upstairs was an added bonus. The parking was free and available on both days of my visit, even after I had checked out. I will definitely stay again. My only note for the venue is that the bulb in the bedside lamp needed replacing.

Brilliantly located, easy to access, clean, comfortable and with all the amenities we wanted. Only minor grumble was creaky floorboards so noise from the people walking about in the room above and doesn’t have a breakfast option but there are plenty of restaurants in the area.

I have to stay in St Albans for work from time to time and Torrington Hall is my favourite place to stay. It has so much more character than some of the soulless hotels I have stayed at in the area. It is well located for the town center and the cathedral. The rooms are generally well presented although, because each is different, some are nicer than others. My personal favourite is St Michael's. The rooms are always clean and the beds are super comfy. Parking is never an issue despite being so close to the center of town. Overall a lovely place to stay in St Albans.

We had a good experience at this property the most difficult aspect was gaining entry. We would use this property again. It was warm pleasant and comfortable.
