Hotel was walking distance to the city and shopping. For those not inclined to walk the hotel provided tram tickets for the duration of the stay! The hotel also had a great continental breakfast and the staff was EXCELLENT! Very friendly, accommodating and very informative- also spoke excellent English which was a bonus! Planning on staying there again on my next trip to Bern!

Loved the look of the hotel room, as well as the location. Was easy to walk downtown and explore on foot to locations I had saved. Definitely would recommend to people. The rooftop was also a nice bonus

This Hotel is wonderful in every way! The staff was very accommodating and surprised us with an upgrade to a suite which had a huge balcony, kitchen, 2 baths and a living room. Did I mention 2 TVs! The breakfast was very good with a lot of fresh fruit, which I appreciated, meats, cheeses, eggs, assortment of breads and pastries. Very nice hotel not far from the old section of Bern. Rooms modern and clean. 15 minutes from train station.

Its a great hotel. Worth every penny and more. It is an apartment which has 3 rooms. We were put in the room with King bed. There were 2 bathrooms shared between 3 rooms. but since one room was empty, we were given one bathroom with no one sharing with us. the room was very clean and everything was smelling fresh and new. it was very comfy. the apartment has a kitchen, which we used to make vegetarian food for us. the super market is just below the building so you can get the groceries and cook....

Excellent property, but slightly noisy because of the industrial area.

We are seniors in our 70s and 60s visiting Switzerland for the 1st time. We reserved 1-night stay in Hotel National Bern thru Hotel.com then decided to use Bern as base to do day trips, but at last minute no more room available thru Hotel.com. Rooms are small and very clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Bathroom small and very neat. Quiet and good location. Hotel gave us a free transportation card for bus and tram for downtown. Bern is a beautiful city.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The breakfast was great and really good. Public transportation was across the street and very close to the hotel. Our room had a great view of the city and the Bern Expo. The staff were all friendly, and very helpful. Highly recommend this place. Definitely when we are visiting Bern we will stay here again. The commons area & kitchen were the best! Great to experience multi cultural interaction that i don't find in 5 star hotels!

Charming hotel in the center of the Old City.

Restaurant and staff were amazing!

Amazing service and beautiful hotel! We loved the views from our 3 large windows with views from every angle. The included breakfast was delicious with many hot item choices as well as a buffet with various breads, fruits, cereals and yogurts. I enjoyed the cappuccino and my husband loved the hot chocolate. I felt like we stepped into a fairytale. Thanks for a delightful experience!

The hotel lives up to its name. From the gorgeous old wooden bar to its old-fashioned elevator, everything about this hotel wants to bring you back to "La Belle Epoque" The location is perfect; the famous clock in the center of town is less than five minutes' walk from the hotel, and even a person with a severely arthritic knee can get to any of the town's sites and cafes within fifteen minutes of walking. This hotel has a wonderful little garden with flowers right in front of it. A tram and bus station is right opposite of the hotels main entrance door. You will get a free daily city tour ticket from hotel staff as long as you stay there. Breakfast and dinner was absolutely superb. Staff very friendly and helpful. I will always return to the same place while visiting Bern. Bring a good friend with you, because the TV- channels offered are really mad.
