Very easy to water taxi back and forth to the main land (which might even be walkable at low tide). Room was clean and staff were all very hospitable.

very nice. Stuf Is grandly and helpful. There is a private beach. It's very comfortable for swimming, especially if you with children. Very good breakfast. I would recommend this hotel for everyone!

Helpful, pleasant staff. Lovely position. We stayed in room right on the water, verandah looking out through flame tree over the bay. Minor design problem in that shutters and whole room could either be open on the view, or we could turn on aircon. Think it was unusually hot when we were there. Good restaurants in walking distance, town easily accessed by local bus. Close to airport.

We stayed in the 2 bed apartment (room 4), and it led straight onto the pool, which is only 5 meters from the beach. Had a lovely time with our 6 month old and 5 year old, excellent staff, and a great location with Hideaway Island a short kayak away, and the Beach Bar 5 mins along the beach. Very clean rooms and thoughtful extras, extra friendly and helpful staff, and a small bar/kitchen with cheap (for Vanuatu) cocktails and handy food options. First the Cons. There are not enough lounge chairs in the beach section in front of the beach side bungalows. There were only three, so everyday it was first come first served. All the available lounges are in front of the pool/bar area. It really isn't an area conducive to ocean swimming because of the coral. You can only snorkel at high tide. Now the good stuff. Pool is lovely and restaurant has excellent food. Room was clean with great view. Had to take bus to town and shopping but price price was great and buses came around all the time.

Stayed 2 nights here to "recover" before the long trip home. After touring the South Pacific, it was nice to have air conditioning, a clean room, reliable hot water, and drinkable right from the tap! We could have just hung out at the pool or lagoon, but decided to explore for a day anyway; convenient for that as well.

The location is quite secluded, so having a car is essential for getting around the island. The hosts are wonderful. I stayed for two nights, both without functioning air conditioning—though the unit was on, it only blew hot air. The host is aware of the issue and mentioned they plan to have it checked. Note that when working, the AC is scheduled to run only from 8 PM to 8 AM. Otherwise, it's a pleasant and relaxing place to stay.

The manager welcomed me and I felt comfortable and safe immediately (single traveller). All staff help the guests with anything they need. I got the beach front fare, and it was worth it. The bed was really comfortable and I just had to walk a few metres to the most spectacular snorkelling with endless varieties of fish. The room took advantage of the breeze. In short, this was the perfect place to relax. I wish I had stayed 10 days instead of 5.

All perfect. Great restaurant, bar, desk, and room staff people. How can people all be so nice and friendly? I assume they have the same problems as the rest of us.

The owner, the staff, the location, and the rental unit were all fantastic. Having the lagoon right next to the lanai was so nice. Everything worked very well, the kitchen was even stocked with pots, pans, dishes, everything needed and all of it very useable and in working order. Even a French press. Super. This was the perfect place for us! They took great care of us, always made arrangements as we needed, the room was clean and we were grateful to have air conditioning coming from cold Chicago. We would definitely choose Poppys for any stay in Port Vila.

Staff friendliness and very relaxing natural environment

It was excellent. Had a layover in Vanuatu and would definitely return for a longer holiday in the future. The staff were amazing and very helpful with local information and what to do in my limited time in country. The pool and restaurant were great. Would recommend.
