We stayed 4 days in Punta Leona then moved into Jaco for 3. I wished that we had stayed the whole time in Punta Leona. Beautiful, quiet and "CLEAN" that's what I enjoyed about the place. 2 separate beaches, 3 pools, 3 bars, 3 restaurants, grocery store (convienance) extra clean rest rooms and showers, butterfly exhibit, monkeys, toucans, macaws, iguanas, man it was great. Probably one of the best complimentary breakfasts that I've ever had. I read other reviews that things were too spread out....
If you are wanting to go where it is peaceful this is the spot. If you are wanting toilets that flush with toilet paper you should not come to Costa Rica. The food was great. We enjoyed our walks around the facility. The views were incredible. This is not a fancy hotel but it was great because we wanted to experience the country side over conveniences that we find in our home. We drove to the facility and had studied the map on how to get to our hotel. Many of the roads in Costa Rica are...
Puterenas is a busy port and not really a center for tourism. I reserved here as a halfway point from Tamarindo to Quepos. What a wonderful surprise. Beautiful large condo unit with fabulous views of the water and boats on both sides of the property. 2 great pools, full professional gym with all the machines and free weights, and a great little restaurant.
The place is pretty. Great swimming pool and rooms. All very clean, good customer service and amazing food.
Parking is narrow, it is difficult to use. They really need to get more parking space.
Had trouble with the shower in the morning: water flow went from zero to enough and then zero, prolly lots of people taking a shower at the same time, was afraid of ending up with soap all over.
Great location looking over Tortuga Island. Beautiful settings with pool area with panoramic view. Need 4x4 to access hotel because 2 mi are on gravel and steep.
We loved this little place. The owner was so friendly and helpful. The view was amazing! Our only regret was that we should have stayed another night! lol And the sunset was breathtaking!
The birding on the property was great, especially walking the road away from the highway (Scarlet Macaws and Howler Monkeys when we arrived!). The tower provided wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. Abram was a great host who prepared delicious meals for breakfast and dinner. I found the mattresses to be a bit too firm, but our kids slept like rocks. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues, like a bathroom door that didn't fully close. But all in all I would stay there...
