Everything exceeded our expextations. The place was spotless. The road to get the rental was rough. You have to watch out for the pot holes but definitely not a deal breaker.
Quiet location, excellent management, comfortable bed, nice furnishings, good continental breakfast with (as everybody mentions) delicious muffins. Our only complaint is why I downgraded "comfort" & "condition" slightly, as there doesn't seem to be anyplace else where it fits. The tub/shower in Room 17 is old (naturally; the age of everything is a large part of the inn's charm) & requires a long step (at least for us senior citizens) up to get inside and down to leave. We stayed 2 nights at the Highbrook, Sept. 14th & 15th. The room was large and spotless, and had been recently renovated. The location was perfect for visiting Acadia and the Town of Bar Harbor. The free shuttle buses stop at the hotel. The breakfast was very good, it included Breakfast Sandwiches, Oatmeal, Bagels, Muffins, Eggs, Yogurt, Bananas, Orange Juice, Coffee, Hot Chocolate and Condiments of all types. We would definitely stay here again.
This is a new property. The rooms are sized generously. Parking is either below the building or across the street. The location is great with restaurants and coffee shops across the street. We had a very comfortable stay and would definitely stay here again.
Location is ideal for walking around Bar Harbor, there’s a grocery store less than 2 blocks away, the unit had everything we needed and was immaculately clean. We had a lovely time and would be delighted to return!
We had a lovely stay at the Sand Bar Cottage. The location was perfect. Chris and his staff were very professional and pleasant. Our room & bathroom were spacious. Our only negative comment would be that we did not receive housekeeping every day. The bed was never made up nor was the trash removed, at a minimum. The room fees were upwards of $425/per night. Housekeeping should be provided.
Beautiful old building. Easy access. Stephan and staff were very friendly and helpful and you could tell they love their job! The food - oh my gawd sooo good!!! Breakfast daily and afternoon/evening tea as well!! Towels are so fluffy!! Would absolutely return!!!

When I arrived to check into my room, I was informed that my confirmation email and their booking did not match up!! The woman at the front desk was amazing and the owner was called. To make sure I got a room for the weekend, she pulled some strings and got me a room in the motel next door! I’m still in shock. People are amazing!
