"What a beautiful experience we had at the ryokan. A perfect setting overlooking the lake, quiet, no noise from the town below. The staff was very kind and courteous, always helpful in assisting us with our questions. We learned about Japanese culture and had a wonderful experience; definitely get the dinner, it was worth it. "Such a beautiful area and amazing ryokan hotel. Staffs are so attentive, food was great. Also not as far from kyoto city as i thought. 30-40mins from taxi and bit more with the bus/ the bus station was just 10mins walk from the hotel. I would love to go back in autumn time. "

"View Lodge Biwa is a really nice accommodation right on the lake shore at Manohama beach. Nice and quiet hotel with Japanese and western style rooms. The place is run by Chiaki (who is fluent in English) and her husband, who are excellent hosts."
