We loved our stay here! The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They gave us an excellent recommendation for a restaurant in a nearby town. There’s a small grocery store within walking distance and I highly recommend purchasing the breakfast at the property, it is home-cooked and hardy for a days hiking ahead as well as beautifully, presented. The grounds and gardens were lovely and we ate breakfast outside and had drinks in the evening surrounded by beauty.

This is a wonderful little spot in eastern Germany, quite off the beaten bath and a little hard to find. Very clean, large spacious rooms, comfortable and quiet. Our minimal German got us most of the way through checking in, but the desk clerk found someone from the kitchen that could speak English. They were very pleasant and helpful. Great location in a building dating back to the 15th Century, but impeccably maintained. Rather steep curved castle stairs, but the manager was very helpful in carrying our luggage. Breakfast was excellent as was service all around. Sherry was waiting in a decanter in the room. When a taxi was delayed picking us up at the train station, the manager (owner?) drove down, himself. First rate service all the way around. Highly recommended.
