This property was newly renovated and was in great condition. The staff took us in early and was very nice. We had the pool as well as a short walk to the lake. Very happy with our overall experience.
The Silver Fountain Inn is such a cute little bed and breakfast with an amazing selection of teas and delicious breakfast included! We stayed in the Chambers and the bed was the most comfortable ever outside of my own bed at home. Wonderful place, will stay again.
My wife was in a local training all day on the day we were checking out, and the woman at the front desk was very accommodating to allow me an extending check-out time.
The service and communication were excellent, the owner was warm and welcoming, breakfast was delicious and homemade, space was very clean, warm, cozy, and we even bought some eggs from the owner’s laying hens! Easy drive to hiking, maple sugar houses, and to sites in Portland. Would definitely go again.
Great facility. For an inn with only 44 rooms, they had all the comforts of a much larger hotel. food was fantastic and REASONABLE. Service was great in all aspects, from grounds people to server, bartender and front desk girls. About 31 miles from Weirs Beach, but just a two minute walk to downtown. We will definatley return to this location. Also, a twice daily ferry ride leaves from the premises for only $12!!!
My family and I stayed here for 4 days and we absolutely adored this place. Let’s just say every time we went out somewhere, we wanted to just come back to independence inn. It felt like home! It was the most relaxing vacation we’ve had. Will definitely be coming back in the near future.

I have stayed here several times. It’s a great way to camp without all the fuss. You feel like you’re enjoying nature without having to pack a bunch of essentials. We stayed in a king bedroom with shower and bathroom. Everything you need is there and it’s close to grocery stores. The pond is wonderful. The location is amazing, I call it my slice of heaven, we have stayed there at least a half dz. times. The owner removed the old loud AC and replaced it with Eco friendly AC. I told him I miss the sound the window unit so he went out and bought me a fan! You have to love it!
