It’s hard to do justice to this masterpiece by famed architect Geoffrey Bawa. Part Kipling, Frank Lloyd Wright, and Oscar Niemeyer? What an amazing experience, with stunning views over beautiful landscape from balconies and terraces that blend into the vines and trees. Uniformly friendly and engaging staff, and one of the best breakfast buffets in the country only add to the property’s luster. Beautiful setting. I was a bit confused about advertised lake who is actually not on the property and holds little for guests. Pool area was wonderful very quiet with trees and birds. Heinz was most helpful in sugges outings and arranging driver. A few niggles: Breakfasts like all in Sri Lanka could use some tweaking with toast presented first to go cold and items not offered but available such as tomatoes or bacon: readily provided when requested. Spider life is rampant so staff could pay more...
