2/10 Terrible

"My friends and I stayed here for a night and had bed bug bites the next day. We were sleeping on the same bunk bed top and bottom and both gotten bedbug bites. We had our suitcase underneath the bunk bed and we knew the luggage were ruined. This added huge amount of inconvenience and trouble trip."

"We surprisingly got upgraded to suites on the ground floor. The room was huge with two walls of windows looking out to the mountains. They were understaffed but the staff that works there was working very hard and were very nice. It is a little far from the glacier. I couldn't figure out the weird glass hallway at first but it is the perfect place to see the Northern lights."

"Ok. Just left there. My expectations were much higher than I experienced starting with the pictures. What you see is the Viking Village, THAT IS NOT THE SLEEPING ROOMS, not even close.. I stayed in cabin 16, and it was much like a construction trailer, in and out. Inside furnishings were a mix of yard sale sofa and chairs and low end IKEA tables and lamps. Poorly insulated for sound as the group in the next room chatter came right through the walls. The pictures of the rooms on expedia may be the rooms closer to the lobby that look to be remodeled, ours was not, very utilitarian and dated. For the $300+ a night USD, I would stay elsewhere. Breakfast was weak, waffles had to be paid for as they were not a part of the small buffet, there was nothing warm to eat, other than toast if you made it yourself."

"The name of the hotel was quite misleading. I had envisioned a cozy farmhouse setting with cows and milk buckets. Don’t get me wrong, I still appreciate the name! What impressed me most was the exceptional soundproofing of the room. From the outside, it seemed like a regular room, but inside, it was completely silent. Our room was conveniently located right in front of the cafeteria entrance. I woke up at 9 am and spent about 20 minutes getting ready before heading out. Initially, I assumed that the hotel didn’t provide breakfast or that we were the only non-empty room. However, my assumptions were completely wrong as soon as I opened the door. The dining room was not crowded, but there were still at least four or five groups of people enjoying their meals. There was even music playing from the check-in area, but we didn’t hear a single note inside our room. Looking out the window, we could see the horses grazing on the farm on the side. The breakfast food appeared plain, but I thoroughly enjoyed my slice of toast with Nutella. It struck me then that I was missing the flavors of non-Nordic cuisine."
