"If you are driving the coast from SoCal to NorCal (or visa versa) and want to break up the trip, you won't find a better place to land than Ragged Point Inn. It's an escape from reality and offers an unexpected tranquility that you can't possibly be prepared for (unless you've already been there before). My family discovered it by accident because we wanted to wake up close enough to Big to get a mid morning start, and take our time getting to our lunch destination (had a noon reservation at Big Sur River Inn). It couldn't have worked out better. Ragged Point Inn was the highlight of our trip."
