"Second time at Secrets. Notable change from last time. The staff for the most part are very good, but, this time they tried to upsell everything…it started immediately after check in. The guy was aggressive and outright rude when I told him I wasn’t interested in his “deal”. After that it was upselling meals and extras. Don’t fall for it the all inclusive meals are good"

"This hotel was amazing. Staff all were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean. They really do treat you like family always with a great attitude. Ismael at the restaurant Panchos was awesome we would always ask for him be the just made us feel comfortable. I do recommend this hotel."

"Honestly, this resort took me by absolute surprise. From the beginning it was clean, everyone was so friendly, the buffet food and poolside tacos were really good and it was close by to the tours and activities we had planned. We were here for my sisters bachelorette weekend and the housekeeping staff ended up leaving a bottle of champagne in our room for us which was such a nice touch. There is no shortage of pool space for every age group and the views of the ocean are absolutely stunning. 10/10 would come back again and highly recommend! "

"I hate to leave bad reviews but I’ve given the hotel multiple chances to make right. Our stay started our great but ended in a near death experience. Our tower caught fire and no alarms went off, thank god for my husbands quick thinking and calmness we evacuated after a super bad electrical fire.sadly the hotel had zero safety precautions in place and if it wasn’t for our own quick thinking we could have died. The hotel offered to comp a couple room charges and send us a couple free nights. Yet management Never followed through or replied to my emails. Never got a free nights or even contacted to see if we were ok afternoon the smoke inhalation.Over all a very scary disappointing experience from a higher end hotel. "

"Overall we had a wonderful stay. I feel with a few improvements this place could be a lot better. At check-in staff did not give information on dinning options or times, where to get pool/ beach towels, themes or activities that went on throughout the week, and how to get around property. Rooms and property were very clean, but outdated and worn down. Most of the staff were friendly, but you definitely received better service if you tipped money especially at the start of service (poolside and dinning). Our housekeeper for the week left a note on our last night, kindly asking for a tip. Our two daughters went for dinner, the waiter asked them for a tip. The app where you make reservations for restaurants and shuttle, was slightly misleading with fine print of charges for dinning at the restaurant. When you reserve a time for the shuttle there is a “ I have read and accept terms and conditions” button you have to select before you can reserve, but not for the dinning where you will be charged. The “i have read and agree to terms.” should be both places for shuttle and dinner reservations. Sushi was really good. Buffet could be better. I loved the beachfront and swimmable ocean. "

"The pool is old and needs to be upgraded. The pool furniture is old and needs to be repaired or replaced or something more modern."
