Learn more about Sitka
Between mountains and sea, Sitka offers a perfect blend of natural wonders and Russian colonial history. Kayak through Sitka Sound where sea otters float lazily among kelp forests and puffins dive for fish. St. Michael's Cathedral stands as a reminder of Russian America, its onion domes incongruous against the Alaskan wilderness. Totem poles tell Tlingit stories along trails in Sitka National Historical Park. Castle Hill provides the perfect sunset spot – stand where Alaska officially became American territory in 1867. The harbor bustles with fishing boats bringing in fresh salmon, while bald eagles swoop overhead with such regularity that locals barely look up. Don't miss the Raptor Center where injured birds of prey find sanctuary.

"Nice carpet throughout hotel"
Sitka Hotel and Restaurant
8/10 Good
"Great location, friendly staff but the building maintenance is below par. The TV did not work, some of the electric plugs did not work, there was no hot water in the morning one day."
Eagle Bay Inn
10/10 Excellent
"This place was awesome. Met some of the Alaskan locals. Super nice and had a lot of great stories! The lady that runs the hotel is a hoot!! Kyle is quiet but very friendly and knowledgeable!! Place is clean and the room was very well decorated!! Would absolutely go back!!! We even had a shuttle from the hotel to the port!"
Southeast Resort
10/10 Excellent
"The room was very clean and simple. On the rare occasion that it warms up over 60 degrees in Sitka there is no air conditioning they provide a fan. The bed was very comfortable and a college fridge is provided. The staff are very nice and accommodating!"
Longliner Lodge and Suites
10/10 Excellent
"Room was very comfortable, pick up and drop off at the airport was a plus!!"
