Learn more about Seneca Rocks
Towering 900 feet above the landscape, the dramatic quartzite fins of Seneca Rocks offer a vertical playground that serious climbers can't resist. The south peak remains the East Coast's only summit unreachable without technical climbing skills. For those preferring horizontal adventures, trails through Monongahela National Forest provide spectacular views without requiring carabiners. The Discovery Center explains how these ancient rocks formed and why locals cherish them. Anglers find paradise in nearby streams where trout dart through crystal waters. After exploring, visit Sites Homestead to glimpse pioneer life beneath the imposing crags. The tiny hamlet at the base serves as gateway and gathering spot where climbers swap stories with wide-eyed first-time visitors.

The Hermitage Inn and Taphouse
"The staff was really nice, the room was large, the bedding was good, but the price was out of line with what you got. No pool, no elevator, the breakfast was spartan, and the room was missing minor stuff, like a bathtub mat, and the stirrer sticks in the coffee packets. You would think these items would be caught by a hotel that costs this much..."

"Property was clean, all staff was wonderful with the exception of the bearded guy at the front desk he seemed inconvenienced by the fact we were there.. Putt Putt was nice minus the $15 per-person that was a little much. Breakfast was lacking but it was quiet and a place to lay my head."
