"We had an excellent stay at the Fairfield in Effingham. The rooms were immaculate and recently updated, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Check-in was quick and easy, and everyone we interacted with was friendly and professional. The location was convenient, the amenities were great, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. "I went to front desk to ask for an extra towel, staff member seemed bothered I asked, went to laundry room where I seen a stack of clean towels but was told they didn’t have any extra, water bubbled out of bathroom sink in the middle of the night and the sign was burnt out making it difficult to find the hotel at night"

"Very nice property right off the highway and by all kinds of food places and gas stations. The staff area always very nice at the front desk. I've stayed here before and will continue to when I pass through Effingham. The breakfast options were very nice with hot and cold options. I appreciate this hotel allows dogs as I travel sometimes with 2 small dogs."

"The bed was terribly uncomfortable. I'm glad we only stayed one night. The breakfast was not so great The scrambled eggs were watery and my husband said the gravy was tasteless. The biscuits were good hot, soft and fresh. I will probably never stay there again when I go to visit my aunt."

"When I first walked into this building it was dark. It was very strange. You are greeted by a guy on the computer kiosk, there’s no in person staff that greet you. It felt off so we were very hesitant to stay and thought about cancelling because we felt it was very sketchy. We went to go check out our room which was on the third floor. The elevator is broken so you have to climb up the stairs and the stairs are awful. My legs were shaking going up and down the stairs and I’m fully capable of doing stairs. I will not stay here again unless the elevator is fixed. We ended up staying and the night. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The tv worked fine, it was nice to have some streaming services available to watch movies on and the temperature in the room felt comfortable. The location being next to the train which wakes you up at 5 am when it goes by was a bit annoying. But, we enjoyed our stay after becoming comfortable in the environment and found that the notes in the wall were a nice homey touch. We would come back in the future if the elevator was fixed. But other than that and being a bit spooked in the beginning by how off the building looked inside, it was a pleasant stay. Thanks! "
