Learn more about Lee Vining
Between the Sierra Nevada mountains and the otherworldly Mono Lake, this tiny outpost serves as basecamp for nature's greatest hits. Mono Lake's alien-looking tufa towers rise from alkaline waters like limestone skyscrapers built by nature. Grab breakfast at Nicely's Restaurant before heading to South Tufa for sunrise photos when the formations glow golden. Mono Cone's legendary soft-serve provides sweet relief after hiking nearby Lundy Lake's trails. The Mono Basin Visitor Center offers fascinating exhibits on the lake's ecological importance and near-death experience. In summer, Yosemite's eastern entrance beckons just up the dramatic Tioga Pass Road. Come winter, the town's 217 residents reclaim their slice of Sierra solitude when snow closes the mountain passes.

Limelight Mammoth
"Hotel was beautiful! Loved that I could valet and they would charge my EV. The gym was a good size with 3 Woodway treadmills and 2 Peltons plus other gym equipment. A nice touch was the refill stations throughout the hotel with still AND sparkling water."
Austria Hof Lodge
"The Austria Hof is very close to one of the lifts at Mammoth, so I would assume that this is a prime location to stay in the winter time. We stayed in the summer. It's quite a nice property with ample parking, but be aware that there is no elevator/lift available. There are steep stairs to climb up to the lobby level. My friend and I were assigned very nice rooms on the third floor up even steeper, winding stairs. One of the reception staff very kindly helped me with one of my bags, as I was having issues with the altitude of over 9000 feet, plus my knees decided to be difficult that day. I was ok leaving the next morning, but it was a real slog (for me) to get my gear up to my room. I believe that there are lockers on the lobby level to hold skis, poles, boots, etc. Reception staff are all very kind and helpful. Kudos to them for their assistance and understanding. We ate dinner in the restaurant on the ground floor, where, again staff were very gracious and super helpful. We enjoyed our meal and wine. Can recommend. Bed was comfortable. Room was quiet. Summer room rates make this place a great deal. Location is fine, albeit higher up the mountain and not as close to the shops and some of the restaurants in what I consider to be the "downtown" (at a lower altitude and not as close to the ski lifts/runs) of Mammoth."
The Village Lodge
"David at the front desk was really nice and helpful , we loved this place amazing amenities!!"
Juniper Springs Resort
"The location is unbeatable, super close to all the good restaurants and grocery store. The staffs were very helpful, the front desk suggested very good breakfast place for us, We really enjoyed our stay, room was big and quiet, it has all the kitchen ware, the only thing we don't like much is the shower design."
