Learn more about Browning

Surrounded by Montana plains, this gateway to Blackfeet culture offers an authentic glimpse into Native American heritage. The Museum of the Plains Indian displays intricate beadwork and powerful artwork telling stories across generations. Nearby, Glacier National Park's jagged peaks and turquoise lakes create an almost impossibly beautiful backdrop. Watch for wildlife along Going-to-the-Sun Road, where mountain goats appear on cliffs with casual confidence. Try traditional crafts at Lodgepole Gallery and Tipi Village, where local artisans share centuries-old techniques. The modest Glacier Peaks Casino provides evening entertainment when mountain shadows grow long and the day's adventures need proper recounting.

"Mountain Pine is an absolute charmer! It takes me back to the motels of my childhood, in the sixties. It has been maintained beautifully, and is spic and span clean. It is a great jumping off spot if you want to spend time in the Two Medicine valley!!"

Glacier Alpine Lodges

Glacier Alpine Lodges

10/10 Excellent
"The 5 cabins are well appointed with what you need for budget travel eating in rather than out. Essentials for cooking and coffee. Best size for a couple with 1-2 kids. Lofts have comfortable bed: twin for kid, full for adults. Small table and sofa and nice bathroom. Very new and modern. Small fix like the bathroom dispensers seemed really to fall as did the mirror shelf. Other than that it’s a great place and location for gas, basic needs, some places to eat and close to Two Medicine area. Accommodating hosts and the outfitters also carry what you need for excursions in Glacier NP including bear spray rental. Will happily come back with a friend."

Many Glacier Hotel - Inside the Park

Many Glacier Hotel - Inside the Park

8/10 Good
"Stayed here for 2 nights in July with family. Positives: Gorgeous setting. Swiss-like esthetics. Loved that you could walk to the trails and not worry about finding parking before beginning our hike(s). Ate at the lounge restaurant and it was very good. Also thrilled to have a coffee shop, snack shop available. If able to, go to dinner one night at the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn restaurant (just a couple minutes away driving) then walk down to Fishcap Lake (nicknamed Moose Lake). It’s about a 5-10 min easy walk. We visited this lake 3 times and saw moose 2 of those times. When visiting after dinner around 7, it was like the animals were paid actors. Deer all around, birds, beaver swimming, and a huge, bull moose. One of the highlights of the trip! Negatives: a small hike is necessary to get to the parking lot. There is not dedicated guest parking, so during the day the lot fills fast due to others not staying at Many Glacier wanting to use the easily accessible trails. During the day, it is hard to find parking. It was not a problem when we left for dinner and returned in the evening. Our room had a balcony but the bench and floorboards were covered in bird poop so not really usable. Shower was tiny and room definitely was warm for sleeping with no AC (but expected—it is July at a national park lodge, afterall)"
