This was an amazing hotel, within walking distance to the US Embassy which was the purpose of the trip. We ordered dinner our first night and the salad was absolutely amazing, my fiancee was raving about how excellent everything was. This was my second stay in this excellent hotel which I chose primarily due to its location on the beach in Ipanema. The first time I visited I stayed in a regular double room #305 which faced to the park next to the beach. This time I stayed in a superior room #808 on higher floor with wonderful views to the beach and park. That’s basically the difference between the rooms as they are the same size and furnishings.

I have been staying here when visiting Rio since 2003! The convenience of being near Arpoador, where Copacabana meets Ipanema, and being able to easily walk to either beach or neighborhood is perfect. Breakfast is varied, fresh, and has my fave Brazilian staples (fruits, ‘french’ bread, eggs and of course coffee.) Front desk and cleaning staff are lovely, and I always feel safe and in good hands there. Can’t wait for a chance to go back
My son and I spent 22 days here enjoying all the football, foot volley, Açaí, Roxy, Marcacana tour, Copacabana and Ipanema Beaches, Christ the Redeemer, Urca Mountain, Sugarloaf, Lapa Steps, Roxy, Brazilian culture and more! The ac didn’t work well, so it got stuffy a few times in the middle of the night. The staff is friendly and helpful, the hotel is very clean and well kept. Great restaurants and shops at walking distance; not to mention the beautiful Copacabana Beach. I would stay at this hotel again. And Mr. Altino (I think that’s his name), the very nice gentleman who works at the front door in the afternoons is the best!
Great location right across from the beach and in proximity to the shops and restaurants of Ipanema. Close enough to walk to Leblon as well. Hotel guests get umbrellas and chairs at the beach included with your stay. Breakfast is included. The restaurant is fantastic for dinner also. Friendly hotel staff that speak English well. Room is not the most updated but who travels to stay in their room?
