Learn more about Londonderry
Trace the complete 17th-century walls for views across both sides of the River Foyle, where history feels startlingly present. The Museum of Free Derry confronts the city's troubled past with unflinching honesty, while colorful political murals tell stories that words alone cannot capture. Duck into the neo-Gothic Guildhall to admire stained glass windows that survived the Troubles. The Tower Museum cleverly spirals visitors through centuries of border-city life. Cross the elegant Peace Bridge connecting the traditionally Catholic 'Cityside' with Protestant 'Waterside.' The Diamond buzzes with street performers and locals who'll happily debate which name to use - Derry or Londonderry - before directing you to the best spots for traditional music.

Bishop's Gate Hotel
"This is a lovely hotel located in a very walkable area, convenient to restaurants and easy to access the city. The rooms are updated, and the staff is very helpful. Our biggest complaint is the air conditioning situation. Apparently some rooms have a/c, and some do not. This was not evident to us when we booked it. We thought we were getting a/c. The staff gave us a “portable a/c,” but it was really just a very noisy fan. There was a window, but the safety controls would only allow it to open an inch. We were hot and stuffy both nights and unable to sleep well. Even though we loved the hotel otherwise, we never would have booked a hotel with no a/c in August."
Wee Sleep Ireland
"Place was so central to what we needed so was perfect, clean and quiet. Parking wasn't great and did add extra costs to the trip but otherwise would happily stay again when we visit again."
Holiday Inn Express Derry - Londonderry by IHG
"Close to airport. You can walk tonairport"
Everglades Hotel
"Or check in was delayed slightly past check in time which meant having to sit and wait in the lobby but other than that, the room itself was lovely and spacious, helpful staff and the amenities are brilliant!"
The Ebrington hotel
"Staff couldn’t have been more helpful! The place smelt amazing at all times and our room was so clean and well serviced"
Waterfoot Hotel
"Hotel is listed as 4* which it definitely isn’t. It is in need of some serious TLC, with flaking outside paintwork, dead flowers in all the window boxes, tired interior, leaking shower tray & a faulty curtain pole in our room which fell down when I tried to close the curtains!! Staff however, are very pleasant & friendly. The restaurant food was of a good standard, especially the daube of beef."
Shipquay Boutique Hotel
"This lovely boutique hotel in the heart of the city is perfectly situated if you want to explore. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was yummy. A jem. I"
Abbey Bed and Breakfast
"We couldn't get enough! Next to the city centre and the free Derry monuments, managed by great and super friendly people was the best place for our unforgettable stay at Derry."
Best Western Plus White Horse Hotel
"We had a fantastic stay! Room was modern and clean and very spacious which was great as we had 2 adults and 3 kids. The pool was great the children really enjoyed it and the staff at the leisure centre were so friendly. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent. We had planned to go into Derry city for food but after swimming and a busy day we opted to eat at the hotel. Our expectations weren’t very high but the food was honestly fantastic! And staff again very friendly. Breakfast was ok. Continental section a bit small and limited choice and hot food was just ok. No black / white pudding, no soda bread and the potato bread was over fried and crispy. But did the job. Would definitely stay again"
