It was a nice hotel. The night manager gave me an upgrade to a suite with a fireplace, so that was very much appreciated. I was concerned about the pillows possibly being feather (I'm allergic), and he hand-delivered synthetic ones and fluffed them for me too. The stay was very good. The breakfast was good. The second morning of my stay, I had to leave at 3:45 a.m. and the overnight staff gave me a couple of muffins and a coffee to go. Overall, they were very nice and great customer service.
The Room was extremely clean. Plenty of towels, love the shower gel/shampoo dispenser. Full size fridge with a microwave. Enjoyed the extra sitting area and multiple channel choices. Room very comfortable. Great continental breakfast and very accommodating staff.
Really like the hotel and the location. Our room was nice but in the worst location in the hotel. On the busiest street with buses and we could even hear the crosswalk beeping. Really annoying. Make sure you don't get a room ending in 14! Also valet parking is $45 a night. Highway robbery.
We have stayed here at least 6 times as every room is a suite with a king size bed. The rooms are spacious and inviting. Several restaurants are within walking distance as is Bowen’s Wharf. Looking forward to our next trip to Newport
Probably the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. The gentleman at the front desk gave great local recommendations and made a personal connection as we were both heading to Bar Harbor the next day.
Breakfast was reasonably priced especially for having smoked salmon on the buffet to go on my bagel and even had capers. Staff at the restaurant was also great.
This is the third time we have stayed here. Just one night as we passed through visiting relatives. This time we had a suite with the loft and it was the whole family-including three small children. Very roomy and nice. The location is downtown Newport. The parking is GREAT. You can leave your car right in front and walk anywhere. The staff was incredibly pleasant. The morning continental breakfast was very nice and had a pretty sitting room with nice views to enjoy.

The Wellington was a last-minute-ish choice for our trip to Newport. It is in an excellent location - walkable to the busy parts of the waterfront, but not so close that there is noise and excessive traffic. The free transit bus and mansions are a short walk away. The room was spacious and homey, the bed was very comfortable, the pool and grounds are in excellent shape. The room rate is not cheap, but we felt it was well worth it, and will gladly stay again.
The hotel was very clean and had great amenities. The staff was very professional and accommodating. We stayed here for parent's weekend at URI. The kitchenette in our room was convenient for any quick meals we needed to prep. Plus there was a grocery store and a Kohl's across the way in case we needed last minute items. The morning breakfast had a good selection of hot and cold dishes.
My only negative feedback that I have was that we could hear people walking around on the floor above us....
Very nice family friendly motel! We were pleasantly surprised how modern, immaculate and homey it was for the great rate we got on short notice. Tons of things for kids to do. Pool, volleyball and badminton nets, shuffle board, bean bags and nice big sand box. Charcoal grills, picnic tables and chairs on a large lot in a quiet area of Charlestown.
