South Mountain
South Mountain welcomes outdoor enthusiasts with snowy slopes and spectacular Allegheny Mountain views. Snowshoe Mountain Resort offers extensive ski terrain with multiple chairlifts weaving through evergreen forests. The Raven Golf Club provides a scenic alternative when you're ready for a break from skiing. Nearby hiking trails and mountain biking routes keep adventure seekers busy year-round. Dining options range from casual slope-side grills to upscale mountain lodges serving hearty comfort foods. Ski-in/ski-out condos and alpine-inspired lodges with fireplaces and hot tubs make perfect mountain retreats. Resort shuttles connect lodging to slopes, though personal vehicles are essential for exploring beyond the resort core.

Slatyfork Farm
Slatyfork Farm offers a rustic Appalachian escape where time slows down and nature takes center stage. Hike through rolling pastures, spot wildlife in dense woodlands, or simply breathe in that crisp mountain air. Nearby adventures await at Snowshoe Mountain for skiing enthusiasts, while the Raven Golf Club promises leisurely days on the green. Farm trails invite exploration of this peaceful slice of West Virginia. This working farm likely offers authentic farm-to-table meals and basic yet charming accommodations. A personal vehicle is essential for navigating the winding mountain roads, as public transit options are non-existent. Pack groceries for your stay since dining options require at least a 20-minute drive to nearby towns.

Hawthorne Valley
Hawthorne Valley offers the quiet side of mountain living with easy access to Snowshoe's thrills. Vacation homes tucked between towering trees provide the perfect basecamp for outdoor adventures year-round. Hike pristine forest trails in summer or zip down nearby ski lifts when snow blankets the mountains. The Raven Golf Club and natural swimming holes await those seeking a break from alpine activities. Getting around requires your own wheels as public transit is limited in this secluded spot. Dining options cluster around the resort with hearty American fare perfect after a day outdoors. Most visitors choose mountain chalets with cozy fireplaces and hot tubs for stargazing under remarkably clear night skies.

Learn more about Snowshoe
Atop the Allegheny Mountains sits a four-season playground where winter brings 60 pristine ski trails across three distinct areas. The Village at Snowshoe defies convention by perching at the summit rather than the base, offering après-ski with Appalachian comfort food and local craft beers. Summer transforms the mountain into a mountain biker's paradise with trails from gentle cruisers to white-knuckle descents. Thorny Flat rewards hikers with breathtaking views from the second-highest point in the state. Golfers can test their skills against the challenging Raven Golf Club, navigating dramatic mountain terrain. For families, Split Rock Pools offers welcome relaxation after active days on the mountain.

Corduroy Inn and Lodge, Trademark Collection by Wyndham
"1 - No exhaust fan in the bathroom. Mirror fogs up when using shower. 2 - HVAC - Very noisy when it is running. 3 - Hallway temperature is very cold (59 degrees reading) on the 3rd floor thermostat located near elevators. 4 - checkout - There was no one at registration desk at 7:35 am to check me out. Problem is I was required to leave a deposit of $100.00 on a credit card to cover anything I might need. With no one there, how am I getting that deposit refunded or removed from that card? 5 - Lack of food service in the whole area doesn’t warrant a return visit."
Allegheny Springs
"Our stay at Allegheny Springs was great. We were on the first floor so we had walkout access to the pool area. A short walk to several restaurants and shops. Fantastic mountain view."
Rimfire Lodge
"There was quite a bit of hair in the tub around the drain when we first checked in. It was kind of icky to see that. The room itself was nice though. I'd go back when I want to visit Snowshoe, WV or the surrounding area. The property is right in the middle of the village, which is nice. Close to restaurants and shops."
