Hotels in Essex

This was the fourth time I’ve stayed here, and I’ll keep coming back. The location is very handy for families of Columbia College, the rooms are clean, comfortable and well appointed. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and it’s priced well.

Beautiful views and great staff to accommodate any needs

I stayed here to visit my child that attends the Art Institute and I was completely impressed. I will definitely stay here again.

Convenience store across street, lots of restaurants, Dunkin' donuts and coffee across street, boat architecture tour nearby, riverwalk nearby, several museums nearby and Grant Park with Cloud Gate walking distance.

I had a great time at the Hyatt! The staff was super friendly and helpful and the room was lovely. Only note I have is it could include a microwave. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We will definitely be staying here again! Great location, clean room, and great service. They even have a great complimentary breakfast which is a must have in a city like Chicago. The staff was great also. We had to switch trains for an earlier one due to weather and got into Chicago in the AM. Check in is 4pm and with two small children we were worried about what to do for hours but the staff helped us out and luckily had a room available.

We chose this hotel last minute and we were nervous because there were a couple recent negative reviews. There were 4 of us in our family and couldn't find anything negative to say about the hotel. The only disappointing fact was that the rooftop bar was not open but that wasn't a big deal. Everything was very clean. Great location, clean room and friendly staff!

From the time we arrived through checking out, both the building security staff and the hotel staff were amazing in every way! Always positive, polite, attentive, welcoming, and courteous. The building, hotel, and the room itself were immaculate. The amenities were wonderful. The view was breathtaking both day and night!!! This property and all of the staff are an absolute hidden gem!

Arlo Chicago is in the perfect location for walkable access to so many Chicago sights, excellent food (please try the Broken English Taco Pub around the corner!), bars, shopping, etc. It was also very conveniently located to access the L when we needed to get to other parts of the city! The staff was BEYOND accommodating, friendly, and helpful. The room was clean and exceeded all comfort expectations! I also highly recommend the lobby bar for a great happy hour spot!!! Excellent stay with the exception of parking. They lets us know about a 7 min walk parking for $30 a night. But there was street parking or self parking behind Trump Plaza.

Extremely easy check in, attentive and friendly staff, the attached restaurant and staff where great, we where given a credit to use at the restaurant upon check in at the hotel. The rooms are a bit small, but will do if your single or a couple, we feel the like shower design could be better as it causes water to get on the floor, the downside is parking, but it’s the cost of being in a prime location, I would stay again

Great stay!

This space was fabulous and the location was great. After many many stays in the city, it was fantastic to stumble across a place where a family could truly be comfortable. The rooms were incredibly clean and the floor to ceiling windows were a game-changer. The beds were solid and the toilet player was 2-ply, but other than that, it felt like a luxurious space! We will be back!

It was okay but, I wish they specified the clearance level for the self parking if we would of have know ahead of time we would of brought our smaller car

Very pleased would recommend to anyone planning a visit in downtown and looking for a place too stay at a reasonable price love the fact parking is available on site for 39 tax might be a little pricey but it’s way cheaper than most places in down town I payed a total of about $150 including the parking for the night the only thing I did not like was that you can’t control the central air settings it’s controlled by the staff so I had too call a few time about it being cold so they decided too...
